President Donald Trump described his upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska as "setting the table" for a potential trilateral summit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump warned of "very severe consequences" if Putin does not agree to a ceasefire during their meeting.

He said a follow-up meeting with both leaders could happen "almost immediately" if Friday's talks go well, but stressed it is not guaranteed.
He emphasized that the decision to proceed with a three-leader summit depends on receiving satisfactory answers from Putin.
