Trump’s Flurry Of Executive Orders Outpaces 16 Past Presidents Combined

President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump is set to issue his 200th executive order of his second term on Friday, renaming the Department of Defense as the Department of War. The milestone comes just 228 days into his presidency, marking the fastest pace of executive action in modern history.

According to The Washington Times, Trump has signed more executive orders in this period than the previous 16 presidents combined at the same point in their terms. Only Franklin D. Roosevelt surpassed Trump’s pace, reaching 200 orders in 153 days.

The White House said the directives advance Trump’s agenda to lower inflation, strengthen immigration enforcement, impose tariffs on foreign competitors, cut federal spending, and reinforce national security. Spokesperson Anna Kelly called him “the most effective and hardest-working president in history.”

By comparison, Presidents Obama and George W. Bush took more than five years to reach 200 orders, while Reagan required over three years.
