U.S. Hits Iran For A Second Straight Night As The Truce Collapses

Central Command fires another round near Hormuz, Iran answers against Gulf states, and Washington warns Tehran will pay the price.

U.S. forces struck Iranian targets for a second consecutive night, with Central Command saying it hit air-defense, communications and surveillance sites and a Navy destroyer launching cruise missiles. The strikes followed the downing of an Army helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.

Iran fired back at Gulf states and Jordan, and U.S. defenses intercepted incoming missiles with no reported damage.

Commanders denied Tehran's claim that it had shut the strait and hit a warship. President Trump warned Iran would pay the price for stalling peace talks.
