The United States and Iran are moving closer to a preliminary agreement aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, according to CNN, which cited regional and Trump administration sources familiar with the negotiations.
The report said discussions are centered on a short one-page memorandum that would formally halt the war and launch a 30-day negotiation period to resolve key disputes. Those issues reportedly include Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions relief, frozen Iranian assets, and security arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz.

Sources told CNN that the proposed framework may require Iran to suspend uranium enrichment for more than a decade and transfer its highly enriched uranium stockpile out of the country. Final details, however, remain under negotiation.
President Donald Trump paused “Project Freedom,” the U.S. naval operation in the Strait of Hormuz, after receiving encouraging updates from Pakistani mediators involved in the talks.
Despite the diplomatic progress, Trump warned Wednesday that if negotiations collapse, U.S. military strikes against Iran would intensify.
