The visit comes as U.S.-mediated peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia have remained stalled for more than two months.https://t.co/ZO72hHe850
The report said Ukraine has been seeking renewed American involvement in negotiations after talks with Moscow showed little progress over the past two months. Washington’s attention has also shifted heavily toward the ongoing Iran conflict.
Ukrainian officials reportedly hoped Witkoff and adviser Jared Kushner would travel to Ukraine to help revive diplomacy. However, concerns remain inside Washington that another round of talks could fail.
Key disputes continue over territorial control. Kyiv supports freezing current battle lines for a ceasefire, while Moscow insists Ukrainian forces withdraw from parts of Donbas before any settlement can move forward.
