Ukraine has agreed to the core terms of a U.S.-brokered peace proposal to halt Russia’s nearly four-year war, according to a senior American official and Ukrainian national security adviser Rustem Umerov.
Umerov said Kyiv and Washington reached a “common understanding” of the deal, with only minor details left to finalize.

U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll is in Abu Dhabi holding intensive talks with Russian representatives.
Moscow has not responded publicly, though Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russia is waiting for formal updates from Washington.

The push follows negotiations in Geneva on a revised version of the Trump administration’s 28-point framework.
Past drafts required Ukraine to give up the entire Donetsk region and halt its NATO ambitions, demands Kyiv previously rejected. Officials say momentum is now building for a ceasefire.
