Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said President Donald Trump has made a final decision allowing Ukraine to manufacture Patriot missile interceptors, according to CNN.
Zelensky said the two leaders reached concrete agreements during their meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. Ukraine has sought domestic production of the advanced air-defense missiles as Russia has intensified ballistic missile and drone attacks.
Zelensky said Friday that Russian drone strikes on Kyiv killed five civilians, including a teenager, and injured 31 others.
He also said Washington proposed three-way talks involving the US, Ukraine and Russia, potentially in the United Arab Emirates. No date has been set, and Russia has not committed to participating, according to CNN.
