A United Nations Commission of Inquiry has accused Israel of continuing actions that it says have caused severe harm to Palestinian children in Gaza, according to a report cited by CNN.

The commission said Israeli military operations have resulted in significant deaths, injuries and trauma among children, and argued that these actions indicate a broader intent to harm the Palestinian population.

The report also alleged that restrictions on humanitarian aid, medical assistance and reconstruction efforts have worsened living conditions for children. According to the commission, attacks on hospitals and healthcare facilities have had lasting consequences for children's health and well-being.

Israeli officials strongly rejected the findings. Israel’s Foreign Ministry described the report as propaganda, while its ambassador to the United Nations accused the commission of ignoring Hamas’ actions, including the October 7 attacks and the use of civilians as human shields.

The report further highlighted violence against Palestinian children in the West Bank and called on governments to consider sanctions, halt arms transfers and support accountability measures under international law.
