The U.S. Senate has opened an investigation into Roblox over concerns about child safety, sexual exploitation and financial abuse on the popular online gaming platform.
According to the report, Senators Josh Hawley and Dick Durbin have asked Roblox CEO David Baszucki to preserve records related to the company's handling of child safety issues.
The platform has more than 80 million daily users, with children under 13 accounting for about 40 percent of its audience.
Senator Hawley questioned whether Roblox is doing enough to protect young users, arguing that the platform is marketed to children as young as five.
The investigation also follows child-safety lawsuits filed in several states, including Ohio and Florida.
Roblox Chief Safety Officer Matt Kaufman said the company considers safety a fundamental part of its platform and does not compromise on that commitment.
According to the report, Roblox has been ordered to provide documents and respond to questions from the Senate inquiry by August 31, 2026.
