Vice President J.D. Vance is visiting Los Angeles today to meet with U.S. Marines and tour multiple federal command centers, including a Federal Joint Operations Center and a Mobile Command Center.
While the White House has not disclosed the purpose of the trip, the visit comes amid ongoing protests over President Donald Trump’s mass deportation orders and the federal deployment of National Guard troops to downtown LA earlier this month.
Gavin Newsom says he didn't have a problem until Trump got involved. Both of these photos were taken before the president authorized the national guard to go protect our border patrol in California. Does this look like "no problem"?

California sued the administration to block the deployment, arguing it was unlawful. However, a federal appeals court ruled in Trump's favor on Thursday, allowing the deployment to continue while the legal challenge proceeds.
Vance’s presence is seen as a signal of federal resolve in the face of intensifying opposition from state officials and civil rights groups. His meetings are expected to include briefings with security and immigration enforcement personnel.
