Torrential rains driven by Tropical Wave No. 40 triggered widespread severe flooding across central Venezuela on Saturday night.
The capital city of Caracas, alongside the neighboring northern states of Miranda and Aragua, bore the brunt of the deluge as key rivers and ravines overflowed their banks.
