A wave of explosive Russian drone strikes tore through the heart of Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi district on Monday, obliterating the upper stories of a residential high-rise and leaving 12 people injured, including a young child.
The brutal aerial assault reduced floors seven through nine of the nine-story apartment building to a smoking ruin, instantly sparking a fierce fire that trapped terrified residents.
As thick plumes of black smoke billowed over the city, emergency response teams and rescue crews rushed to the scene, scrambling through unstable rubble to search for survivors amid relentless threats of renewed bombardments.
