U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth launched a forceful public defense in a video message Thursday, dismissing looming impeachment efforts in Congress as a "sham" rooted in the "politics of personal destruction."
Addressing the mounting political pressure following the midterm elections, Hegseth defended his overhaul of the Pentagon and leadership during the Iran conflict.
Slashing back at congressional critics seeking his removal, he insisted the effort "won’t work with me" and urged troops to ignore the noise. Hegseth's defiant stance comes as President Donald Trump publicly reaffirmed support for his Pentagon chief.
