Hundreds of supporters gathered in Minneapolis on Monday to rally behind Democratic U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar after federal agents executed a search warrant at her Washington-area residence.
Organizers and community speakers condemned the search as a politically motivated attempt to undermine the congresswoman, urging voters to respond by turning out in high numbers for next month’s midterm elections.
Omar strongly defended herself, calling the action a targeted abuse of power and declaring she would "not be silenced." The demonstration highlighted growing political tensions as national leaders and local activists prepare for November's critical contests.
