Iranian military media released video footage early Wednesday showing what Tehran claimed was a coordinated barrage of missiles and drones launched toward U.S. naval vessels and commercial oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated the retaliatory strikes directly targeted American assets following a devastating U.S. military operation that destroyed five Iranian oil tankers near Kharg Island and the Gulf of Oman.
This rapid exchange marks a dangerous escalation in the region, severely threatening critical maritime shipping lanes and driving global crude oil prices near $100 a barrel as tensions worsen.
