French President Emmanuel Macron has sharply condemned international political figures for exploiting recent civil unrest across France, pointing to coordinated "foreign manipulation of information" in the wake of widespread looting and protests in Paris and other major cities.

Speaking on Wednesday, Macron pushed back against narrative framing by foreign leaders, calling their public commentary "as unacceptable as they are stupid".

Accusing outside entities of leveraging distorted online information and deepfakes for political gain, Macron emphasized that domestic social tensions were being intentionally misrepresented abroad to weaken France's international standing while interfering in its internal affairs.
