On Wednesday, a massive avalanche of ice and rock unleashed devastating flash floods across Nepal, leaving hundreds of people missing and confirming at least eight dead.
The catastrophic torrent swept violently through several villages, destroying homes, tearing down bridges, and severing vital regional infrastructure. Emergency rescue teams and local authorities scrambled into action, navigating submerged roadways and thick mud to search for survivors trapped in the debris.
With key communication lines severed and many remote communities completely cut off from assistance, officials fear the casualties could rise significantly as search-and-rescue operations expand.
Authorities are urging residents in low-lying areas downriver to evacuate immediately to higher ground as extreme weather conditions continue to threaten the region.
