The disaster struck without warning when a glacial lake outburst sent a massive wall of debris, water, and mud roaring down the mountain pass. Entire riverside communities, vital road links, and multi-storey structures were violently swept away in seconds.
Emergency crews, military personnel, and local volunteers are scouring dense sludge and treacherous riverbanks under severe weather conditions. Downstream settlements remain on high alert as search and recovery efforts intensify across the border region.
