At least 30 people have died and dozens more are feared injured after two high-speed passenger trains collided Wednesday morning in Spain's central Toledo province.
Aerial footage released by the Guardia Civil captured the devastating impact, showing a derailed train with at least one carriage precariously perched on an elevated track.
Spain’s state rail infrastructure authority, Adif, immediately suspended all services between Madrid and the southern region of Andalucía following what officials described as a rear-end collision.
The disaster comes just nine months after a similar collision between trains of the same operators on the line left 46 people dead.
