What Did Iran Say About Its Strike On Amazon's Data Facility

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it destroyed Amazon's data infrastructure in Bahrain with cruise missiles, according to a statement carried by the IRGC-linked Fars News Agency.

CNBC said it could not independently verify the claim and reported that Amazon and Bahraini authorities had been contacted for comment.

The reported strike comes as military exchanges between the United States and Iran continue after President Donald Trump declared the ceasefire with Tehran over.

The report said the renewed conflict has sharply reduced vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz while pushing Brent crude above $90 a barrel. Analysts warned prolonged disruption could drive oil prices even higher.

CNBC also reported that concerns are growing over threats to both the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, two critical routes for global energy supplies.
