Meta is sharply expanding its investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure, committing to buy millions of advanced chips from Nvidia as it builds out U.S. data centers.
The deal includes Nvidia’s Grace CPUs, Blackwell GPUs, and upcoming Vera Rubin systems, underscoring Meta’s reliance on Nvidia for the next phase of its AI strategy.
The agreement makes Meta the first major tech firm to purchase Nvidia’s standalone CPUs at scale. These chips are designed to run AI systems rather than train them, signaling a shift toward inference as AI products move into wider use. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The move comes as next-generation Nvidia chips remain scarce and demand for computing power continues to surge.
Analysts say the deal reassures investors worried about a slowdown in AI spending. Meta is expected to spend roughly $135 billion on AI this year, even as it and rivals pursue in-house chip alternatives.
