Thousands of residents were evacuated in parts of Kansas and Oklahoma. Authorities confirmed that homes and buildings were destroyed, though no deaths have been reported. At least eight firefighters were injured across both states.
Additional fires forced evacuations in Woodward and Texas County, Oklahoma, and damaged multiple structures. Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt declared a disaster emergency in three counties.
Dry air, gusty winds, and warm winter conditions continue to fuel fire danger across the region.
