In February, during the first week of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a million civilians, mostly women, and children fled to neighboring countries in Europe.

Now, four months on, more than 5.2 million refugees from Ukraine reside in over 40 countries right across Europe – the biggest mass exodus since World War II.
