Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected President Donald Trump's 15-point Gaza peace plan, saying Israel will not withdraw its forces until Hamas is fully disarmed.
According to BBC News, Netanyahu told his cabinet that Israel would continue military operations to protect its forces and citizens.
The report said Trump's Board of Peace had recently announced an agreement on the "completed disarmament" of armed groups in Gaza. Hamas, however, has maintained that it would consider disarmament only if Israel fully withdraws and ends military action.
Netanyahu said some proposals from ongoing discussions with U.S. officials were acceptable while others were not. His stance also comes ahead of Israeli elections, with pressure from right-wing coalition members to maintain a tougher position.
Hamas has said it remains willing to engage in negotiations and uphold the ceasefire.
