UK Defense Secretary John Healey resigned on Thursday, citing concerns that the government was not providing sufficient funding for the armed forces, according to CNN.
In a resignation letter shared publicly, Healey said current defense spending falls short of what Britain needs at a time of growing security challenges.
The report said he believed the military was not receiving the resources required to meet national defense priorities.
According to CNN, Healey's departure highlights growing tensions within the governing party over spending priorities and national security policy.
