Companies including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Cursor, Databricks and Salesforce have either expanded office space or increased hiring in the British capital.

According to industry executives, London has become one of the world's strongest AI talent hubs outside the United States, supported by leading universities, research institutions and the long-standing presence of Google DeepMind.

Anthropic recently secured office space capable of housing around 800 employees, citing London's deep pool of AI expertise. The report said the city's financial ecosystem also provides access to venture capital and growth funding.

However, the expansion is creating challenges for local startups, which face tougher competition for skilled workers.

Experts also warned of a growing shortage of premium office space, along with concerns over whether energy, computing infrastructure, housing and transport networks can keep pace with the sector's rapid growth.
