Apple has launched a new legal challenge against the U.K. government's latest demand for access to encrypted data belonging to British customers, according to CNBC.
The dispute follows a similar confrontation last year after Britain's Home Office sought access to encrypted data belonging to both U.K. and U.S. users. That request was later withdrawn following interventions by President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, the report said.
According to the report, the latest order applies only to British users. Apple has previously disabled its Advanced Data Protection feature for new U.K. users and has repeatedly maintained that it will never create a backdoor or master key to access customer data.
