NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte has called on alliance members to present clear and credible plans to achieve the bloc's higher defense spending goals.
According to the report, the appeal comes as NATO members work toward a target of spending 5 percent of GDP on defense by 2035, although some nations have yet to meet the previous 2 percent benchmark.
The report said NATO is expected to announce tens of billions of dollars in new defense industry contracts during a forum on Tuesday.
The alliance estimates combined defense investments will reach about $258 billion across 2025 and 2026.
Rutte also warned that NATO has measures available to encourage members that fail to present convincing defense spending plans.
