Toyota is recalling about 655,000 Camry vehicles worldwide because of a software defect that can cause the instrument cluster display to remain blank when the vehicle starts.
According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents, more than 508,000 affected vehicles are in the United States.
The problem involves the 7-inch combination meter and could prevent drivers from seeing important information.
The defect may also deactivate turn signals, hazard lights and seatbelt warning indicators, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.
Toyota Motor North America is expected to begin mailing recall notices to U.S. owners on September 21. The affected Camrys were manufactured at plants in the United States, Japan and Thailand, making the campaign one of the larger vehicle recalls of 2026.
