India's Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were detained by Delhi Police while staging a sit-in near Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence, demanding accountability over the alleged NEET-UG examination paper leaks.
According to the report, the Congress leaders called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, arguing that repeated examination leaks have affected millions of students across the country.
The report said the protest followed the "Chalo Sansad" march toward Parliament, during which police used tear gas and lathi charges to disperse demonstrators after clashes broke out.
According to the report, the controversy disrupted proceedings in Parliament as Opposition MPs demanded a discussion on the handling of the protests and the examination leak issue.
The government defended its response, citing arrests made in connection with the alleged leaks, while Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said all political parties share responsibility for safeguarding the interests of India's students.
