President Donald Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Friday, marking their fourth meeting as part of Trump’s effort to broker an end to the war in Ukraine. The meeting underscores Witkoff’s growing role as Washington’s key intermediary with the Kremlin.
Footage released by the Kremlin showed Witkoff and Putin shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries before engaging in formal talks across a white oval table. Putin was joined by key officials, including foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov and investment envoy Kirill Dmitriev.

Photos earlier published by Russian outlet Izvestia showed Witkoff walking through central Moscow with Dmitriev, who has served as a key conduit between the Trump team and Russian leadership.
