Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for a more inclusive global framework for artificial intelligence, arguing that no single country should dominate the development or governance of the technology.
According to the report, speaking at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai, Xi promoted open-source AI and urged nations to work together to ensure broader access to technological advances.
Chinese startup Moonshot AI also unveiled its Kimi K3 model during the conference, claiming it is the world's largest open AI model by parameter count.
According to the report, the conference comes as China and the United States prepare for their first government-level AI discussions under President Donald Trump's administration.
Xi warned that unequal access to AI could create new global inequalities and called for international cooperation to reduce technological risks while preventing any single nation from controlling the future of artificial intelligence.
