Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine cannot withdraw from its territories as part of any peace agreement with Russia, stressing that such a move would abandon civilians and Ukrainian forces, in remarks aired Sunday on Fox News.
Zelensky spoke after meeting U.S. President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago, describing the discussion as productive.
He said a revised peace plan is nearly complete, with territorial issues remaining the key unresolved point.

The Ukrainian leader said Kyiv has proposed a demilitarized free economic zone as a possible compromise but ruled out a referendum that would justify giving up territory.
He expressed deep skepticism about Russian intentions, saying pressure from Washington remains essential.
Zelensky said Ukraine cannot defend its airspace without U.S. military support and is seeking long-term security guarantees from Washington.
Public support for peace remains strong, he said, but Ukrainians overwhelmingly oppose territorial concessions.
