Zuckerberg Warns Against Blocking Chinese AI

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has argued that the United States should not ban Chinese artificial intelligence models, saying stronger domestic innovation would be a more effective response to growing competition from China, according to CNN.

According to CNN, Zuckerberg's remarks come as the Trump administration debates tougher measures against Chinese AI developers. Officials have alleged that China's Moonshot AI improperly used U.S. rivals to train its latest Kimi K3 model, an accusation the company has denied.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has also warned that sanctions remain possible if Chinese firms are found to have stolen intellectual property.

The report said Washington has already announced new restrictions on imports of foreign-made humanoid and quadruped robots, along with certain power grid equipment, citing national security concerns amid intensifying U.S.-China technology competition.
