In a reported 10-minute recording, Jeff DeWit, the chair of the Arizona Republican Party, allegedly offered what U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake viewed as a bribe to dissuade her from running for the next two years.

London's Daily Mail claimed to have obtained and authenticated a 10-minute recording of a conversation between Jeff DeWit and Kari Lake in which DeWit allegedly told Lake:

There are very powerful people who want to keep you out.

The conversation, said to have occurred in March, seemingly supports Lake's claims of influential forces working against her candidacy. Additionally, DeWit reportedly expressed the opinion that former President Donald Trump would lose his reelection campaign and that it was time for someone else to step in.
