Capitol Police Officers Challenge Trump-Backed Compensation Fund

Two police officers who defended the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump, seeking to block a $1.8 billion Justice Department compensation fund for Trump allies.

According to the lawsuit, the officers argued the taxpayer-funded program improperly benefits individuals who claimed they faced political prosecution after the Capitol unrest. The suit described the fund as a misuse of federal resources, the report said.
