CNN, MS NOW And Politico Seek Court Order Against Trump

MS NOW, CNN and Politico are suing President Donald Trump over his decision to bar their journalists from working at the White House, according to the outlets’ joint statement.

The lawsuit, expected to be filed in federal court in Washington, seeks a temporary restraining order that would restore the reporters’ White House press credentials and prevent further enforcement of the ban.

The case follows a separate legal battle involving The Associated Press, which was previously restricted from certain White House areas.

In April 2025, a federal judge ruled that the AP ban violated the First Amendment, though an appeals court later paused that ruling while Trump’s administration appealed.

The White House also removed CNN from the presidential travel pool ahead of Trump’s trip to New York.
