Several Republican lawmakers told the network they are frustrated by what they see as mixed signals from the administration, with discussions of military escalation often followed by renewed optimism about peace negotiations.

Many are urging the White House to focus on securing a diplomatic resolution and presenting a clearer long-term strategy.

According to CNN, lawmakers including Sen. Shelley Moore Capito and Rep. Jeff Van Drew emphasized the need for a peace agreement and an eventual exit plan. Others raised concerns about the economic impact of the conflict, particularly as inflation and energy costs continue to rise.

The report said some Republicans are also questioning potential requests for additional military funding and remain skeptical about any move that could involve U.S. ground troops.

While many continue to support efforts to curb Iran’s influence, they argue the administration must better explain both the costs and objectives of the conflict to the public.
