Hamas has announced the dissolution of its de facto governing body in the Gaza Strip, transferring administrative responsibilities to the U.S.-backed National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG).
According to the report, the decision is intended to fulfill commitments made under the U.S.-brokered ceasefire framework agreed to in October 2025.
The report said Hamas, which has governed Gaza since 2007, will allow the 15-member committee led by Ali Shaath to oversee civilian administration.
Despite the announcement, questions remain over the future of the ceasefire.
According to the report, disarmament remains a key condition for the agreement's next phase, leading Israeli officials and other critics to argue that the move is largely symbolic.
The Trump-appointed Board of Peace said it will judge the development by actions rather than promises as negotiations continue in Cairo.
