Officials said the prime minister and other government members were safe. The Houthis claimed they targeted a Saudi military operations centre inside the compound as part of their campaign against Saudi deployments in Yemen.

The attack followed renewed Houthi warnings that Saudi airspace and airports were unsafe. Saudi Arabia’s coalition reported intercepting a drone near Khamis Mushait, a cruise missile in the Medina region and another drone in the Eastern Province.

The coalition said military operations would continue to weaken Houthi capabilities. The escalating attacks have raised concerns over regional security, commercial shipping and energy supplies.

US President Donald Trump has accused the Houthis of seeking to push oil prices higher, potentially ahead of America’s midterm elections.
