How Is The U.S. Keeping Oil Flowing Through The Strait Of Hormuz

Officials said roughly 10 million barrels of oil are now leaving the strait daily

The U.S. military has quietly established a shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, allowing millions of barrels of oil to reach global markets despite ongoing tensions with Iran, according to Axios, citing two U.S. officials.

The operation has reportedly been running for several weeks, with 15 to 20 tankers moving through a southern channel near Oman each night. Officials said roughly 10 million barrels of oil are now leaving the strait daily, about half the pre-war volume.

The U.S. military is coordinating ship movements with Gulf partners and providing air protection against Iranian drones and cruise missiles. The report said a recent U.S. Central Command campaign weakened Iran's radar and maritime surveillance capabilities, helping make the corridor possible.

President Donald Trump told Axios that a substantial amount of oil is continuing to move through Hormuz. U.S. officials said the operation has helped ease supply disruptions that had pushed global crude prices higher.
