The U.S. has rejected claims by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard that it struck two American vessels in retaliation for recent U.S. attacks on Iranian tankers. U.S. Central Command said no Navy warship had been hit and that all Iranian attempts failed.
According to CENTCOM, U.S. forces have destroyed 10 Iranian tankers over the past week. Washington says the vessels were linked to a shadow network allegedly financing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Iran also claimed it captured a U.S. unmanned underwater vehicle. However, the U.S. Navy said the drone malfunctioned, was an older model and carried no sensitive information. The episode highlights the growing role of autonomous military technology in U.S. operations across the region.
