At least six people were killed and more than 100 wounded after Russian drones struck a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih, central Ukraine, according to Ukrainian authorities cited by CNN.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attack occurred in two waves. The second strike reportedly came about 30 minutes after the initial attack and targeted emergency personnel responding to the resulting fire.
City defense council chief Oleksandr Vilkul said 103 people were injured. At least 27 victims were reportedly in serious condition, including a 14-year-old girl who suffered a traumatic brain injury and two other children.
The attack comes as Russia has intensified its aerial campaign against Ukraine. The report said the escalation is occurring as front lines remain largely static and Ukrainian air defenses face increasing pressure.
