In a recent CNBC interview conducted by David Faber on Tuesday, entrepreneur and Tesla CEO Elon Musk discussed his views on conspiracy theories and the suppression of information. Musk acknowledged that some conspiracy theories have turned out to be true, citing the example of the Hunter Biden laptop controversy. He criticized the suppression of this story as an act of election interference.
FABER: “ You do some tweets that seem to be, or at least give support to some who would call others conspiracy theories.”
MUSK: “Well, yes, but I mean, honestly, you know, some of these conspiracy theories have turned out to be true.”
FABER: “Which ones?”
MUSK: “Well, like the Hunter Biden laptop.”
FABER: “That’s true.”
MUSK: “Yeah. So, you know, that was a pretty big deal. There was Twitter and others engaged in an act of suppression of information that was relevant to the public. That’s a terrible thing that happened. That’s election interference.”
FABER: “But how do you make a choice? I mean, in terms of when you’re going to engage.”
