At Bloomberg’s Qatar Economic Forum on Tuesday, Elon Musk reaffirmed he would lead Tesla for the next five years. Then, he quipped, “Well, I might die.” Musk spent significant time on the White House’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), while Tesla’s sales plunged 13% last quarter, the steepest drop in its history.
Musk’s remarks come after The Wall Street Journal reported Tesla was exploring CEO replacements, a claim Musk and Tesla's board denied. With DOGE duties winding down, Musk says he’ll refocus on Tesla. Shares rose 1% Tuesday.
Musk also defended his massive pay package in the conversation.“I’m confident that whatever some activist posing as a judge in Delaware happens to do will not affect the future compensation,” he said.
