North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said the U.S. conflict with Iran proves his country was right to keep its nuclear weapons, according to remarks reported by CNN.
Speaking before North Korea’s legislature, Kim accused the United States of aggression and declared Pyongyang’s nuclear status “irreversible.”
He argued that countries without nuclear weapons are vulnerable to U.S. military action, reinforcing North Korea’s long-standing deterrence strategy.

The comments come as President Donald Trump signals openness to renewed talks with Pyongyang. Kim indicated he may engage diplomatically, but only if Washington accepts North Korea as a nuclear power and drops what it calls a hostile policy.
North Korea has continued weapons testing and is believed to possess multiple nuclear warheads and delivery systems. It has also deepened military ties with Russia, supplying weapons and troops for the Ukraine war.
Analysts say Kim’s stance narrows the path for future negotiations while strengthening his domestic and strategic position.
