The United States Department of Defense released a new batch of previously classified UFO files Friday after President Donald Trump ordered greater transparency around unidentified aerial phenomena earlier this year.
According to the Pentagon, the documents include decades of investigations into unusual sightings reported by military personnel, astronauts, and government officials.

Newly released records describe incidents in Iraq, Syria, Greece, and the United Arab Emirates, including reports of unexplained lights and aerial objects observed by U.S. troops.
The files also contain older accounts from NASA Apollo missions. During Apollo 12 in 1969, astronaut Alan L. Bean reported seeing flashes of light moving through space. Apollo 17 astronauts later described bright particles outside their spacecraft.
The Pentagon stressed that the reports reflect eyewitness interpretations and should not be treated as definitive proof of extraterrestrial activity. Officials said additional declassified material will be released in phases.
