Prosecutors in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial continued presenting rebuttal witnesses Monday as the case moved closer to closing arguments.

The prosecution is seeking to challenge the defense's claim that Clancy was experiencing postpartum psychosis when she killed her three children in 2023.

The defense rested its case Friday after forensic psychiatrist Dr. Phillip Resnick testified that Clancy suffered from postpartum psychosis and heard a voice commanding her to kill her children.

Prosecution witness Dr. Avram Mack agreed that Clancy had major depressive disorder but testified that he found no evidence of psychosis and disputed the claim that she lacked the capacity to understand her actions.

Closing arguments had been expected early this week, but prosecutors said they still have two rebuttal witnesses to present, delaying the case's progression toward jury deliberations.

Jurors must determine whether Clancy retained substantial capacity to understand the wrongfulness or criminality of her conduct before reaching a verdict.
