Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. publicly endorsed President Donald Trump's nominee for U.S. Surgeon General, Casey Means, calling her "born to hold this job" and praising her as a “juggernaut” against outdated medical conventions. In a post on X, Kennedy described Means as a source of “ethical guidance, wisdom, and gold-standard medical advice,” and thanked Trump for the nomination.

Kennedy’s strong support comes as the pick faces growing scrutiny from conservative activist Laura Loomer and others, who have questioned Means’ medical credentials and political loyalty. Means, a wellness influencer and former physician, was nominated after Trump withdrew Janette Nesheiwat, following criticism of her vaccine views and education background.
Kennedy’s backing signals a united front within the Department of Health and Human Services, despite controversy surrounding the vetting process and Means’ qualifications. If confirmed, she will lead 6,000 Public Health Service officers and help shape U.S. health policy.
