Authorities have arrested a second suspect in connection with the shooting at Toledo's Old West End Festival that left 12 people injured earlier this month, marking another significant development in the ongoing investigation.
Police in Columbus arrested 20-year-old Ka Nye Taylor on Wednesday in relation to the June 6 incident. Taylor faces multiple felony charges, including 11 counts of felonious assault, and is expected to be transferred to Toledo to face prosecution. Investigators allege he played a role in the gunfire that erupted during the popular community event.
According to Toledo Police Chief Michael Troendle, the victims ranged in age from teenagers to individuals in their 60s. Despite the scale of the incident, city officials have reported that all 12 victims are expected to recover from their injuries, providing some relief to families and the broader community.
The shooting has reignited concerns about public safety at large gatherings. In response, Toledo city leaders are considering new measures designed to improve security at festivals and community events.
As prosecutors prepare their cases against the suspects, investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and whether additional individuals may have been involved. The case remains a priority for local authorities as Toledo seeks to reassure residents and strengthen safety measures for future events.
